Trevor man faces arson charge

A Trevor man is facing a charge of arson related to a fire that damaged a feed store on Oct. 10.

Joseph L. Stortz, 40, has been charged in Circuit Court with Arson of Building Without Owner’s Consent, a Class C Felony, according to court records.

Law enforcement officials investigated the fire at the store in the 1100 block of 258th Avenue, Trevor, right away as being of suspicious origin.

Stortz is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 26.

Besides the arson charges, Stortz is also facing other charges including burglary, criminal damage to property and theft of less than $2,500.
