Three dead as result of Friday crash on Highway 50

Three people have died as a result of a crash on Highway 50 near the Salem Lakes/Bristol border Friday evening, a spokesperson for the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department confirmed Saturday.

“We are delaying the release of the victims names pending further notification to extended family,” said Sgt. Tony Gonzalez, KCSD public information officer, in an email message to westofthei.com.

The crash occurred at about 6:45 p.m., Friday, and involved two vehicles, a pick-up truck and an SUV in the eastbound lanes of Highway 50 near 216th Avenue. One person died at the scene, the Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. Three others were transported to area hospitals and later to a Milwaukee area hospital.
