UPDATE: Driver dies in Salem crash

The driver of a car that left Highway C in Salem this evening died, a sheriff’s department spokesman said.

The following statement was released by KCSD Sgt. Bill Beth:

At 2022 hours this evening Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputies responded with Salem Fire and Rescue to the scene of a fatal car crash in the 21700 block of CTH C. It was a single vehicle crash with a single occupant (the driver) being fatally injured. The preliminary investigation seems to indicate that the involved vehicle was Eastbound on CTH C when it left the roadway on the right shoulder. The driver over corrected to the left and the vehicle rolled over. The cause of the crash is still being investigated. The identity of the driver is still also being investigated. More information will likely be available tomorrow.”

Beth said deputies were still on the scene at about 10:03 p.m.
