Units responding to crash in Salem

At about 8:25 p.m., Town of Salem Fire/Rescue units and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a crash in the 21700 block of Wilmot Road (Highway C) in Salem.

Per dispatch: Caller says car flipped over.

UPDATE 8:26 p.m. — Second ambulance requested to respond to the scene.

UPDATE 8:32 p.m. — Dispatch asks if Flight for Life medical transport helicopter will be able to land at scene or elsewhere.

UPDATE 8:33 p.m. — Additional Salem Fire/Rescue personnel toned out to set up a landing zone.

UPDATE 8:36 p.m. — Flight for Life being canceled by incident command at the scene.

UPDATE 10:03 p.m. — The driver, the sole occupant of the vehicle, died in this crash. More here.
