Car driver involved in crash with bus in critical condition

The driver of a car that struck a school bus on Highway 45 in Paris Thursday afternoon is in critical but stable condition, Sgt. Bill Beth, spokesman for the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, said Friday morning.

The car driver was Shawn Hudon, 35, of Paddock Lake, Beth said. Hudon is at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, where he was taken by Flight for Life medical transport helicopter after the crash.

A statement released Thursday by the Sheriff’s Department said Hudon, driving a 2003 Toyota Camry, rear ended a Dousman Transport Company School Bus that was stopping to drop off a student at 2218 Highway 45. The bus driver and that one remaining student on the bus were not seriously injured, though the bus driver was taken by ambulance to a local hospital as a precaution.

Factors contributing to the cause of the crash are still under investigation, Beth said on Friday.
