UPDATE: Struck pedestrian was a utility worker

kcsd-doorA pedestrian struck by a car along Highway B in Salem early this afternoon was a utility worker who was flagging traffic, a statement released by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department  said.

From the statement:

Today at 13:08 hours Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputies responded with Salem Fire and Rescue to 7645 CTH B (288th Ave.) in the Town of Salem for a utility worker who was flagging traffic and subsequently struck by a vehicle. Reports are not yet complete and the investigation is still underway. Preliminary information indicates that the driver of the vehicle that struck the utility worker did not see the signs that were posted or the utility worker who was flagging traffic at the time he was struck. There is no indication of driver impairment at this time. The utility worker sustained leg and head injuries. Salem Rescue transported him to the Kenosha County Center helipad, where the utility worker was then taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital for serious injuries. Names are being withheld at this time pending the outcome of the investigation.
