Units responding for crash in Salem

At about 1:11 p.m., Town of Salem Fire/Rescue and Silver Lake Rescue units are responding to a report of a crash in the 7600 block of Highway B in Salem.

Crash involves a vehicle and a pedestrian, dispatch says.

UPDATE 1:14 p.m. — Deputy on scene reports pedestrian appears to have a head injury and a broken leg.

UPDATE 1:18 p.m. — Traffic being blocked by deputies on Highway B, both directions.

UPDATE about 1:25 p.m. — Bristol Fire and Rescue dispatched to set up a landing zone for Flight for Life medical transport helicopter. Flight estimated time of arrival is 20 minutes.

    I wasn’t there, but the speed that most people drive through in Paddock Lake on Highway 50 is ridiculous. It’s 35mph, YEA RIGHT I’ve been passed knowing the vehicle is going 50 or more.

    Something REALLY needs to be DONE in the area. The Sheriff Dept. NEEDS TO CRACK DOWN IN TOWN and do it continuously!

    I can see how someone can get injured or killed in the area. look at ALL the accidents at the intersection they have had!
