Wheatland new fire station referendum results

A referendum asking Wheatland residents to approve spending for a new fire station for the Town of Wheatland Fire Department was defeated in Tuesday’s election.

The final vote totals were: Yes – 308, No – 426.

A committee charged with designing a new station came up with a plan that was estimated to cost $3.8 million and anticipate the department’s needs for 50 years.
