Crash on Highway 50 near D backing up traffic

At 5:12 p.m., a crash between a car and a van on Highway 50 around Highway D in Bristol has caused a large back-up of traffic on Highway 50 in the westbound lanes.

East bound lanes gave been rerouted.

UPDATE — From Sgt. Bill Beth, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department: Crash happened when an eastbound vehicle on Highway 50 collided with a vehicle crossing the highway at Highway D moved very slowly south to north. The driver of the car that was crossing Highway 50 will be ticketed for failure to yield the right of way. That driver, an 81-year-old woman from Bristol, was transported to a Milwaukee hospital by Flight for Life, but her injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

    I hope everyone is alright! I do wish the radio stations would post this information, if it’s already on your website, wouldn’t radio stations have the information also. Hwy 50 is an extremely busy road! I was stuck at the early stage of the back up, by the time I turned around at MB traffic was backing up past the Strawberry Farm. Hwy K and hwy 45 were of course was backed up also.

    Once again it seems like once you get past the I, traffic doesn’t matter! Duh, there is still half of Kenosha County on the other side of the I.
