
Recent rain that has fallen, and more in the forecast to come, has the Fox River on the rise.
The river as measured at the New Munster Gauge, the Fox was up to 9.82 feet on Sunday at 6 p.m. On Friday at 11 p.m., the river was at 7.87 feet.
The current National Weather Service forecast calls for the river to crest at 11.5 feet at about 7 p.m., Tuesday. Flood stage is 11 feet.
There is a 90 percent chance of showers and/or a thunderstorm in the wee hours of Monday morning.
