At about 1:23 p.m., Bristol Fire and Rescue, Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue and Newport Fire Department units and sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a fire in the 21200 block of 117th Street in Lake Shangri-la.
Per dispatch: Fire is reported as being in a garage.
UPDATE 1:31 p.m. — Deputy on scene reports garage is fully engulfed.
UPDATE 1:33 p.m. — Box alarm activated by Bristol FD command. Department due to respond with engines are Paris Fire and Rescue, Kenosha Fire Department and Twin Lakes Fire Department. Due to respond with tenders (water tankers) are Somers Fire and Rescue, Town of Whealand Fire Department and Randall Fire Department. Due to respond with an ambulance is Silver Lake Rescue Squad. Due to respond with a chief are Somers, Kenosha and Paris. Deputies are evacuating homes nearby due to risk of wind spreading fire to other nearby homes.
UPDATE 2:22 p.m. — Fire investigation team dispatched to respond to the scene.
UPDATE 2:51 p.m. — Box alarm struck out by Bristol FD command. Units on the scene already to remain until released by command.




No more than 3 to 5 minutes before 1st sirens heard screaming down Hwy V, there was, what sounded & felt (to me,) like either an explosion, or an earthquake (like those that ARE felt here, occurring downstate Illinois); It was very loud & shook the house & ground! Had hoped to read something about this explosion as suspected cause of this Lake Shangrila fire. I live 1/8 to 1/4 mile west of incident of 3-14-18.
