Units responding to fire in Silver Lake

At 6:44 a.m.. Silver Lake Fire Department and Town of Salem Fire/Rescue units are responding to a structure fire in the 200 block of S. Railroad Street in Silver Lake.

UPDATE 6:49 a.m. — MABAS box alarm activated. Twin Lakes Fire Department responding with a tender and a truck.

UPDATE 6:54 a.m. — MABAS box alarm has cancelled. ARA response continuing.

UPDATE 6:58 a.m. — Deputy on scene reports to dispatch that fire is out.

Note: Randall Fire Department and Town of Wheatland Fire Department also responded, with Randall units being first on the scene.

    How ironic are own fire department couldn’t cross the tracks to extinguish a fire at a local establishment but we’re supposed to rely on other agencies farther away that would have to cross the same tracks go figure Greg

    Hard to put out a fire when you walk across the tracks without a hose or fire extinguisher. Thank goodness we have some brave Rescue Squad people willing to help the people of this village still.

    That’s a very great question who would have to ask Greg what he crossed the tracks with, frankly I don’t care if all he had was a squirt gun the fact is we were beat to the punch!!! This is nothing but a horse and pony show, where’s sgt. Punsley when u need him?
