Two beaches on Paddock Lake have been closed after high readings of E. coli showed up in tests.
The beach at Old Settlers Park and the Paddock-Hooker Lake Association beaches are the closed beaches, said village administrator Tim Popanda.
Readings of 300 E. coli/100 mL to 999 E. coli/100 mL trigger a warning. Readings of 1,000 E. coli/100 mL or higher trigger a closure.
Old Settlers had a reading of 1046 E. Coli/100 mL and PHLA Beach had a reading of 2,419 E.Coli/100 mL.
The two other beaches on Paddock Lake, both on the north side of the lake, had readings of 10 E.Coli/100 mL. They will remain open.
The beaches will remain closed until a test with a reading of less than 300 E.Coli/100 mL, Popanda said.
