UPDATE: KCSD says assailants in Lake Shangri-la incident believed to be out of area

The assailants in a shooting incident in Lake Shangri-la Monday night appear to be out of the area, a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said in a statement issued at 11:30 a.m.

The full statement from Sgt. Dan Ruth, public information officer, said:

The shooting incident which occurred last night in the Lake Shangri-la subdivision, in the Town of Salem, continues to be thoroughly investigated by Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department Detectives at this time. At this time, this case appears to be an isolated incident.  After several hours of searching the area and continuing efforts to inform area residents of the situation, it is believed that the assailants are no longer in the area.  There does not appear to be any immediate threat to the community at this time. As with any serious incident such as this, Sheriff David Beth encourages citizens to diligently report any suspicious activity or information which could assist the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Detectives in this investigation.

At about 9:35 p.m. Monday, deputies and fire and rescue personnel responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the 2200 block 121st Street. “The incident involved a male victim who reported he had been shot by one of two assailants,” Ruth said in a statement issued early this morning.
