town-of-salem-sign-webSalem electors and Town Board members passed a tax levy for 2015 of $3,767,913 at meetings Wednesday night.

The 2015 levy represents a 4.83 percent increase over 2014.

There was little discussion about the budget at the electors meeting, with only two residents asking questions. The budget and levy was passed by electors unanimously.

The Town Board also had little discussion about the budget and levy. The budget, including the levy, passed unanimously with all board members present.

The total levy includes a library levy of $339,498, a 4.73 percent increase from 2014. The library levy, however, is not set by the town, but by the Community Library.
