Units responding to structure fire in Bristol

fire-2-13-2013-1At 7:58 a.m., units from Bristol Fire and Rescue, Pleasant Prairie Fire Department, Antioch Fire Department and Newport Fire Department along with sheriff’s deputies are responding to a report of a structure fire in the 21100 block of 116th Street in Lake Shangri-la area of Bristol.

UPDATE 8:07 a.m. — First fire personnel on scene reports smoke and flames visible. Deputy on scene says flames coming from back of home. Occupancy of the home unknown.

UPDATE 8:18 a.m. — MABAS box alarm activiated. Salem Fire/Rescue responding with an engine and a chief, Paris Fire Department responding with an engine, Somers Fire and Rescue responding with a tender (tanker) and Twin Lakes Fire Department responding with an engine.

UPDATE 9:07 a.m.– Coming back from the scene with photos. — DH

UPDATE 9:38 a.m. — Fire appeared to be out as I arrived at the scene a little before 9 a.m. Chimney for a fireplace on the back of the house was heavily damaged. Box alarm was struck by Bristol fire command about 9:15 a.m. Traffic blocked in both directions on 116th Street (Highway V) at the fire as the house is adjacent to the highway.
