Today at 1640 hours Kenosha County Sheriff’s Deputies responded with Paris Fire and Rescue, to a three vehicle crash in front of the address 12900 Burlington Rd. (STH 142). As a result of the crash there was one fatality. Four other people were transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. The investigation found that a black Ford Edge driven by a 42 year old female resident of the Town of Paris was eastbound, turning left into the driveway at 12900 Burlington Rd. A white Hyundai Elantra driven by a 38 year hold male resident of the Town of Wheatland was also eastbound. The driver of the Hyundai rear ended the Ford and slid sideways into the oncoming (westbound) lane of traffic. The Hyundai was then struck in the driver’s side by a westbound Jeep Cherokee that was driven by a 50 year old resident of Franksville, WI. The driver of the white Hyundai was ejected and fatally wounded. The driver of the Jeep is seriously injured, but the injuries are not life threatening. The driver of the Ford was injured, but the injuries are not life threatening. There was also a 14 year old male passenger in the Ford and an 11 year old female passenger in the Ford. The passengers were transported to the hospital as a precaution, but were not injured. At this time it is believed that the cause of the crash is inattentive driving by the driver of the Hyundai, but a cause for the inattentive driving is not known. The crash remains under investigation. STH 142 was closed for the investigation and remains closed at this time (1931hrs). The roadway is expected to open shortly when the vehicles are removed.
