At 6:10 p.m., Twin Lakes Fire Department units and Twin Lakes Police officers are responding to a report of a barn on fire in the 400 block of Highway Z in Twin Lakes.
UPDATE 6:11 p.m. — Randall, Wheatland and Richmond fire departments also responding.
UPDATE 6:18 p.m. — Police officer on scene reports that barn is fully engulfed in fire
UPDATE 6:19 p.m. — Box alarm is being called. Additional units from Salem Fire/Rescue and Paris now responding.
UPDATE 6:20 p.m. — Location may be in Randall.
UPDATE 6:22 p.m. — Traffic on Highway Z (93rd Street) being blocked at Highway P to the west and Meadow Court to the east.
UPDATE 6:25 p.m. — Box alarm being upgraded. Additional units/personnel from Salem and Paris fire departments being dispatched.
UPDATE 6:37 p.m. — Deputies responding to control traffic and free village officers for Twin Lakes calls. Trucks were also being brought in to take out livestock.
UPDATE 6:44 p.m. — Police offer reports traffic situation as “unbelievable.”
UPDATE 10:45 p.m. — We are seeking additional official information. We will share it as soon as we can. — DH
Watching fire trucks go past like every minute, assuming there getting water from powers lake?

Does anyone know if the animals are alright?
There are ambulance flying down hwy f seems every 15 minutes: praying for all involved.
Just went up there, animal barn is burnt down, tons of fire trucks all over. When i was up there, the animals were being taken away, not sure how many survived or r ok, sure i’ll find out within the next couple of days
I believe there are no animals in the barn.. I always saw them out in the field
We saw some animals being led down the field south to a neighboring property we believe. Still very active just saw 3 ambulances pull up Hwy Z.
The barn belongs to a friend of ours. Everyone is ok animals and equipment too
All cattle are ok but all buidings, except house are a loss
thoughts are with the family and hope all is ok! such a sad loss, old barns are so unique and a staple on farm property.

We helped move cows…they are ok. Amazing to see the farm community help out a fellow farmer. Thoughts are with them tonight.
A group of us are starting work at getting a fund raiser together. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family. Such devastation.

To our family farm community words can’t express how we feel, how truly blessed we are to have you in our lives; from hauling of the cattle Friday night and again Saturday afternoon. To setting up barns and making sure the cows were safe, feed, milked, and comfortable; to the continued support still and in the future we can’t thank you enough.
To Rick and his family who’s phone call gave us the time needed to get all of our cows and young stock out of the barn, thank you for saving our family life style. You’re our hero.

Friday night we all proved that we are not just a group of people that farm, we are a family that will drop whatever we are doing to help each other save the farm.â€
I fell so sorry for my uncle’s barn to go like that and his life and hard work in that barn. My dad was there with the fire dept. and got home at 3:30 a.m. Good thing he is a new barn with all the cows they got out. Now they need to more on and remember the memories in the barn!
