A power outage at Lakewood School Sunday caused damage to the school’s heating system and closed school today.
Repair crews are on scene at the school and it is expected that school will be back in session tomorrow, said Joseph Price, district administrator.
A power outage caused a transformer to blow and boiler system motors to overheat. Smoke from the motors triggered alarms that brought the fire department to the scene Sunday morning.
There was no fire and no damage to the school other than to the boiler system, Price said.
