At 6:45 p.m., Salem Fire/Rescue units are responding to a report of a fire in the 12100 block of 219th Avenue in the Lake Shangri-la neighborhood.

Dispatch said caller reporting the fire said flames were “coming from everywhere.”

UPDATE 6:48 p.m. — Deputy on scene reports that house is fully engulfed in flames. “You can’t even see it,” he said.

UDATE 8:17 p.m. — Went out to the scene and just returned. When I left at about 7:45 p.m. the fire was well under control, but firefighters were still knocking down some flare-ups in the attic. Here are some photos and video I took at the scene. We will follow-up with the fire department and sheriff’s department for more information when available.

I knew the guy who lived there. He was very kind.. He just left to live with his son later this year. I am glad he is ok.
