Byron Baker of Kenosha faces several charges in relation to a crash on Highway 50 in Salem on Saturday morning that injured two children.
According to Circuit Court records, Baker faces the following charges:
- Two counts of Knowingly Operating While Suspended (Cause Great Bodily Harm).
- Possess Drug Paraphernalia.
- Operating While Suspended.
- Inattentive Driving.
- Operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
A Sheriff’s Department report says that Baker, 58, was eastbound on Highway 50 in the 27600 block when he was distracted by a roadside event. When he braked to avoid striking a car in front of him he crossed the median and struck a vehicle in the eastbound lanes, injuring the driver and two children.
