We Energies is reporting a power outage effecting over 3,000 customers in Western Kenosha County.

The utility’s outage map seems to suggest the outage is centered in Wheatland. I have received email from people without power in Brighton and Salem (near F and Highway 50).

The outage began at about 9:11 p.m., We Energies says.

There are also some smaller outages being reported between Wheatland and Burlington in Racine County.

At West of the I HQ, we have power, but no cable (thank goodness for wireless internet access!). Neighborhood seems OK too.

UPDATE 9:55 p.m. — Reports via comments that some of Paddock Lake and Silver Lake without power too.

UPDATE 10:23 p.m. — Our cable is back at West of the I HQ.

UPDATE 10:27 p.m. — Commenter says Paddock Lake power is back on.

UPDATE 10:41 p.m. — We Energies appears to be making progress. Now reporting only 2 customers without power in Paddock Lake, only 100 in Salem and 267 in Silver Lake. Still 600 customers effected in Wheatland.

UPDATE 11:08 p.m. — We Energies says all but two Kenosha County customers have had power restored.
