Earthquake in Illinois felt here

The above map shows (green arrow) the epicenter of the Jan. 30, 2012 earthquake.

There was a minor earthquake in Illinois last night that some people in Wester Kenosha County reported feeling.

The quake registered 2.4 magnitude and happened just before 10 p.m. The quake was centered at McHenry, Illinois.

Those reporting to the U.S. Geological Survey that they felt the tremor included two people from Bristol, two from Trevor and one from Twin Lakes.

No damage has been reported from the quake.
