Twin Lakes Community Library closing for expansion; Silver Lake expanding hours

The Community Library in Twin Lakes will be closed for a remodeling and expansion project starting on Sunday, Sept. 18.

A re-opening date is pending; however, library officials anticipate being able to re-open the end of November or the very beginning of December.

Patrons are encouraged to visit the other Community Library locations in Salem and in Silver Lake.

The current Twin Lakes space is approximately 3,800 square feet and will be expanded to approximately 6,300 square feet.  The additional room will provide more public access computers, programs, shelves for materials, and general seating areas, library officials say.

The Community Library in Silver Lake will temporarily extend its hours beginning Monday, Sept. 19 while the Twin Lakes library is closed for the expansion and remodeling project. The temporary extended hours will be: Monday through Thursday 10 a.m.to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday closed.

All of the Community Library locations and the Friends of the Community Library will not be accepting material donations starting through Dec. 1 due to the remodeling project in Twin Lakes. As soon as the Library in Twin Lakes re-opens, material donations will be accepted at all of the Community Library locations.
