Two drivers were ejected from their vehicles and seriously injured in a crash this afternoon at Highways C and U in Bristol.
According to a statement from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department: Deputies responded to a report of the crash at about 4:30 p.m. A northbound vehicle failed to stop at the stop sign and was struck by a westbound vehicle. Both drivers were ejected. Diana Wolfe , 69, of Grayslake, Ill., was driving her vehicle northbound on CTH U approaching CTH C. Wolfe failed to stop at the stop sign. This was confirmed by witness accounts. Wolfe’s vehicle was struck in the side by a vehicle heading westbound, being driven by Dina Gravedoni, 44, from Spring Grove. Ill. Both drivers were ejected from their vehicles. Deputies do not believe either driver was wearing a seatbelt. Both drivers sustained serious injuries. Wolfe was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital and flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital. Gravedoni was taken to Aurora Hospital and flown by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital. Wolfe is in extremely critical condition. Neither driver is suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Wolfe’s two grandchildren were in the vehicle with her. They were taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital as a precaution, but report no serious injuries. The grandchildren are Kenosha residents. Bristol Fire and Rescue handled the scene with assistance from Pleasant Prairie and Newport fire departments. The intersection was closed for approximately 1.5 hours while deputies took measurements and investigated the crash.

I came upon the incident just after it happened. I was about the 3rd or 4th person who stopped. I’m glad to hear both of the girls are ok. I stayed with the younger one for a bit, reassuring and calming her down until the police arrived and I had to move my vehicle. Thank you to all the folks who stopped and provided some type of help including traffic control until the police arrived. My family and I have been praying for these folks-please keep them in your prayers.
