Salem town supervisor candidates interviews

There will be a primary election for Salem town supervisor this Tuesday to narrow the field from five candidates to four candidates.

Those four will then vie for two, two-year terms on Town Board on the April 5 ballot.

Below is video of interviews with each of the candidates, presented in alphabetic order:

Dan Campion and his wife have lived in Salem since June 2009. The couple moved here after becoming “empty nesters,” Campion said. Campion has worked in sales and marketing for 35 years with the same company. For much of that time he worked in international sales and more recently has worked in the company’s Midwest region. He ran unsuccessfully for town supervisor in April 2010. Here is his interview:

Jody Keulman-Ress is a life-long, fourth generation resident of Salem. She works as a union laborer. In the past, she has served as a 4-H project leader for the Horseless Horse project. Here is her interview:

Joseph Meier has lived in Salem since 1976. He has four children, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. He holds a master’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He taught for 27 years at Salem School, retiring in 2002. He then taught for six more years at a parochial school in West Allis. He currently substitute teaches at Salem. He has served on the Town Board since “the mid ’80s,” he said. Here’s his video interview:

Patrick O’Connell has lived in Salem for 20 years. He is married and has four children. He has been a town supervisor for eight years. He also is currently the vice president of the Community Library Board. In the past, he has served on the Board of Directors of The Sharing Center and was a Meals on Wheels volunteer. He ran unsuccessfully for county treasurer twice and for a county supervisor seat once. He is also running for town chairman. Here’s his video interview:

Gail Peckler-Dziki, has lived in Salem since 1990, when her and her husband had a house built there. She has worked as a reporter for Southern Lakes Newspapers for 12 years. In 2006, she joined The Sharing Center Board of Directors and also served as president. She home schooled some of her children for 14 years. Here is her interview:
