Wheatland Center School has cancelled classes today due to the cold causing buses to malfunction.
An automated phone call and mass email sent out by the district said:
This is a message from the Wheatland School District, Due to the cold weather the buses are not operating properly. We apologize for the delayed notice, but we do not want to jeopardize the safety of students. For this reason we are calling school off for the day. Again we are sincerely sorry for the late notice, if it wasn’t for the bus fuel lines gelling up, we would not have called off school. Thank you.”
Wheatland has its own bus fleet.
Providence Catholic School in Brighton and Paris also cancelled classes today.
