Early Kenosha County results showing Kerkman leading Brown

With six of 59 polling places in Kenosha County reporting at about 8:31 p.m., Republican incumbent Samantha Kerkman has a sizable lead over Democratic challenger Steve Brown. Kerkman has 73 percent of the vote at this point in the county to Brown’s 27 percent.

The district also has sizable territory in Racine County and a little in Walworth County.

UPDATE 9:07 p.m. — First Racine County partial results show Kerkman with about 70 percent and Brown with 28 percent there.

UPDATE 9:15 p.m. — Latest Kenosha County results show race tightening slightly — now Kerkman 70 percent, Brown 30 percent.

UPDATE 9:30 p.m. — Combined partial results show Kerkman with 69 percent and Brown 31 percent. Still 18 polls needing to report in Kenosha County.

UPDATE 10:07 p.m. — With 57 of 59 Kenosha County polls reporting partial results, Kerkman holding at 69 percent and Brown with 31 percent.

UPDATE 10:57 p.m. — One Kenosha County poll still yet to report in 66th Assembly. County website suggests the hang-up may be in Salem.

UPDATE 11:19 p.m. — Kerkman appears to have won with all polling places reporting, but some votes still uncounted.
