Units responding to report of barn fire in Paris

Firefighters put some water on the remains of a barn along Highway 142 in Paris that caught fire Sunday.

At 3:38 p.m., Paris Fire and Rescue is responding to a report of a barn on fire in the 18500 block of Highway 142 in Paris.

Dispatch says the animals in the barn have been removed.

UPDATE 3:38 p.m. — Traffic being blocked at Highways D and 45 and Highway 142.

UPDATE 3:55 p.m. — Kenosha, Salem, Silver Lake, Pleasant Prairie, Kansasville and Somers fire departments are responding to scene now.

UPDATE 4:55 from the scene — Firefighters have the fire under control, but are still putting water on the wreckage. Heavy equipment was being called to the scene to help with demolition. Paris fire Chief Roland Iwen said there have been no injuries so far in connection with this fire. The metal-sided wood barn appears to be a total loss.

UPDATE 5 p.m. — Some mutual aid response units starting to leave the scene.

UPDATE 5:02 p.m. — We Energies arriving.

UPDATE 5:30 p.m. — Iwen said further information about the fire and its cause not available yet.

UPDATE 7:23 p.m. — Command terminated and all equipment leaving scene.
