The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department and The Racine County Sheriff’s Department have taken three individuals into custody relating to the recent rash of burglaries that have occurred in the Paris, Bristol and surrounding area.
A 27-year-old male and a 29-year-old male, both of Kenosha, are currently being held in Kenosha County Jail on probation holds. A 23-year-old male 23 is currently being held in Racine County Jail also on a probation hold. Additional multiple felony charges are pending against all three of these individuals including burglary charges relating to some of the Paris burglaries.
Kenosha Sheriff’s Detectives are continuing to interview these suspects. Two suspects are cooperating. They have admitted to their involvement in some of the Paris burglaries as well as burglaries in Bristol and in Racine County, said Sgt. Gil Benn, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department spokesman.
Detectives from both departments have been attempting to connect the dots for the past few weeks. One of the Kenosha suspects had recently been stopped for a minor traffic violation in a Milwaukee suburb and was taken into custody for outstanding warrants. He had been suspect in Milwaukee suburban burglaries. A few days later, the suspect being held in Racine was arrested in Racine County at a burglary in progress. A connection between those two suspect was established, which implicated a third suspect, who was recently released from prison. Sufficient evidence was found to obtain multiple search warrants. Detectives from both departments served a search warrant at a home near the 6900 block of 13th Avenue in Kenosha.
Sheriff’s detectives found the suspect recently released from prison at the home, along with multiple stolen goods from burglaries in Racine County and some of the burglaries in Paris. Items such as TV’s, laptop computers, video cameras, and even DVDs bearing victim’s names were recovered. During the search, a Kenosha Sheriff’s K9 lead detectives to a stash of illegal drugs. One pound of marijuana and a half ounce of crack cocaine were seized from the residence.
This investigation is ongoing, Benn said, and sheriff’s detectives continue to interview suspects and follow up leads. Currently, information on additional search warrants and suspects is unavailable.
Sheriff David Beth praised the efforts of his detectives and those from Racine County.
“Detectives from both agencies worked hard to put the pieces together and get these suspects behind bars†said Beth. “However, there is still more work to do and we need your tips to help.”
