The Sharing Center seeking new director and staff

The Sharing Center, Western Kenosha County’s most prominent relief organization, has issued a press release that says it’s looking for new staff leadership.

The press release does not specify what happened to the last executive director, Liz Peyton. It also suggests that some staff may no longer be working for the agency as well.

Here’s the text of the release:

On Friday, February 19th, the Sharing Center in Paddock Lake opened its doors to clients at 9AM staffed by the Board of Directors. It was “business as usual.”

Modeling the Sharing Center mission of “empowering people in their transition to independence,” the Board team, along with dedicated volunteers, bagged groceries, met with clients, stacked shelves, organized clothing and answered phones. All programs continue to be funded while current and future fundraisers continue to move ahead with caring sponsors. During the transition period, the team will be led by Interim Executive Director Kim Mackay.

A search has already begun for a new Executive Director and several staff members. All interested parties may submit resumes and call the Sharing Center to request an application and job description.

I’m really surprised at this point. I truly hope this is in the best interests of both the Center and those leaving. The Center has certainly gotten more attention and support of recent, and this is chiefly due to Ms. Peyton’s effort. And I was totally satisfied with its direction and operation.
