Paddock Lake will be looking for a resident with a knack for combining local history with a cool t-shirt.
The Village Board on Tuesday night approved a brainchild of Trustee Karen Harris to sell 50th anniversary t-shirts and conduct a contest to set the design. The margin between the cost of the t-shirts and the price charged could help pay for a planned 50th anniversary celebration. The village’s birthday is in July.
“If you make a couple of bucks that’s a couple of bucks for the celebration,” Harris said.
Harris’ idea — which she said she hatched during a recent sleepless night — was warmly received by the rest of the Village Board.
“I think everyone in Paddock Lake would buy one,” village President Marlene Goodson said of the t-shirts.
Trustee Terry Burns also proposed the possibility of a mug design. Burns operates a mug and glassware printing business. He abstained from teh vote about moving forward with the program. All the other trustees voted for it, with Trustee Chris Bucko absent.
