Two people were injured in a crash Monday afternoon in Paris that involved a Kenosha County sheriff’s deputy.

At about 4:45 p.m., Deputy Nicole Sorensen was responding to a report of a man lying in a ditch on Highway L just west of Highway 341. Sorensen was traveling east on Highway N west of Interstate 94 when she said she saw a vehicle ahead of her. As she approached I-94, suddenly she saw a pickup truck stopped on the road. Sorensen collided with the rear of the 2000 Ford Ranger pickup truck owned by Steve Sendelbach, of 12212 38th St., the address he was turning into, said Sgt. Gil Benn, Sheriff’s Department spokesman.

Sorensen said she did not see or notice a turn signal that Sendelbach reported to have had on, said Benn.

The squad car KSD squad 199 sustained severe front end damage, Benn said. Airbags aided Sorensen in suffering only a minor wrist injury.

Sendelbach reported a minor ankle injury.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
