Vendors in Twin Lakes who are aligned with community organizations will not have to obtain a peddlers permit if the organization vouches for the group as being part of their activities, the Village Board has decided.
The issue arose when some vendors sought to regularly sell food in Lance Park in conjunction with performances by the Aquanuts Show Ski team. At least one of the vendors was committed to contributing much of the proceeds back to the water ski group, village administrator David Cox said.
Under present village ordinances, such vendors might be required to obtain a peddlers permit. But after discussion of the topic the board has decided to waive the permit if the community organization says the vendor is part of their operation, Cox explained.
