Sheriff’s deputies are responding at 10:35 p.m. to a rollover accident in the 12900 block of Burlington Road (Highway 142).
The vehicle may be a prisoner transport van from the state, scanner transmissions said.
There may be as many as six injuries.
UPDATE 10:45 p.m. — A deputy on the scene reported one person in the vehicle. Seven people outside, “most with head injuries.”
Highway 142 traffic is being blocked at Frontage Road, Highway MB and Highway UE.
UPDATE 10:49 p.m. — Rescue units are responding from Paris, Bristol, Somers, Pleasant Prairie and Newport.
UPDATE 11:01 p.m. — Not clear if some passengers are unaccounted for. There are supposed to be 10 people in the van including driver, dispatch relayed to the scene. Personnel on the scene calls for two Flight for Life helicopters.
UPDATE 11:17 p.m. — Representative of Kenosha Correctional Center heading to accident scene.
