An Illinois woman died in a one-car crash early this morning in Randall.
Kenosha County sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at 3:47 a.m. The accident on Highway Z (93st Street) just east of Highway P (388th Avenue) was discovered by a passing motorist.
Deputies report the vehicle was westbound on Highway Z when it drifted off road to the right, slid sideways and struck a large tree. There were only two occupants in the vehicle, a 2006 Pontiac GTO. The front seat passenger was a 28 year-old woman from McHenry, Ill. She died at the scene, sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Gil Benn said.
The driver, a 39-year-old man from Twin Lakes, also was injured and was taken by Flight for Life helicopter to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. His injuries were reported as non-life threatening, Benn said, and he is expected to be released from the hospital.
The identities of the victims are being withheld until family members of the deceased can be notified.
