Some 40 Paris School students and their parents spent Saturday afternoon at the LaBell home painting large “Vote Yes” signs.

The signs will be posted throughout the Paris School District Sunday, said Beth LaBell.

The school district is facing a tax levy referendum June 9. The referendum asks voters to authorize the district exceeding the state revenue limit for three years.

If the referendum does not pass, School Board members have said the district will not have the money to operate beyond the 2009-10 school year. Consequently the district would have to be dissolved and absorbed into surrounding districts.

The committee supporting the passage of the referendum also has yard signs, which can be requested by calling LaBell at 515-3175.
