Motorcyclist dies in crash in Wheatland

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash early this morning in Wheatland.

The name of the driver was not released pending notification of family members, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department said.

At about 3:30 a.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash scene at county Highways KD and JB.

The sole rider of the motorcycle was not conscious and not breathing upon deputies’ arrival at the scene, a sheriff’s spokesman said. The rider was transported by Twin Lakes Rescue to Burlington Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Evidence at the scene suggests the rider was northbound and did not attempt to negotiate the 90 degree curve in the roadway, but continued going straight off KD across JB, the spokesman said.

An investigation is ongoing.
