From a news release from the Sheriff’s Department:

On January 1, 2018 at 6:28 pm, the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department along with Paris Fire and Rescue responded to the 12300 block of highway K (60th St.) for a serious two vehicle injury crash. Pleasant Prairie and Bristol Fire and Rescue assisted as well. Investigation at scene revealed that a 2006 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound and was struck head-on by a westbound 2012 Toyota Tundra pick-up truck. The operator of the Toyota Corolla (53 year old female) was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of injuries sustained. There was a seven year old male passenger who was also injured and transported for medical care. They both are from City of Kenosha. The operator of the pick-up truck (38 year old male) was injured and also transported for medical care. Investigation revealed that the pick-up truck operator left his lane of travel and entered the lane occupied by the car causing the crash. The male operator of the pick-up was alone in the vehicle at the time of this incident. He is a Kenosha County resident.

Charges against the driver of the pick-up truck are anticipated, but they have not formally entered Circuit Court records.
