Units responding to shooting at Paris drag strip

At about 7:12 p.m., units from multiple local fire departments are responding to a box alarm activated by Paris Fire and Rescue for multiple shooting victims at a drag strip in the 18400 block of Highway KR in Paris.

Departments responding are Kansasville Fire Department, Union Grove Fire Department, Bristol Fire and Rescue, Somers Fire and Rescue and Pleasant Prairie Fire Department. Salem Lakes Fire/Rescue is responding for change of quarters. Flight for Life medical transport helicopter also is included in the box alarm. The departments are responding with engines, ambulances and a squad.

The shooter has been identified as a male black, about 5 feet 9 inches, about 145 pounds who has fled the scene in a black vehicle. Direction of travel unknown.

UPDATE 7:33 p.m. — Highway KR being shut down from Highway 45 to I-94.

UPDATE 7:54 p.m. — Deputy requests Highway KR at I-94 be opened for constant stream of eastbound traffic leaving drag strip property. Both lanes for traffic being used for eastbound travel.

UPDATE 8:13 p.m. — Dispatch reporting a crash on Highway KR involving a car and maybe two motorcycles.

UPDATE 8:18 p.m. — Dispatch reporting an additional crash in the 15300 block of Highway KR.

UPDATE 8:21 p.m. — Box alarm being upgraded for ambulances only. Staging at Paris Fire station. Due with ambulances Twin Lakes Rescue, Caledonia Fire Department, Newport Fire Department, South Shore Fire Department, Salem Lakes Fire Department and Scout Leaders Fire Department.
