The opening of a new Western Kenosha County office for Women and Children’s Horizons was celebrated with a ribbon cutting Wednesday.
The new office is at 8607 Antioch Road, Unit 7 in Salem.
The Kenosha Area Chamber of Commerce conducted the ribbon cutting, featuring Sheriff David Beth as the guest speaker.
Women and Children’s Horizons was established in 1976 and is the oldest incorporated shelter in Wisconsin. Today WCH is a well-respected agency in the Kenosha community, with a mission of advocating for victims of sexual and domestic violence/abuse.
Women and Children’s Horizons Board President, Diane Walton, said, “Until recently, the majority of the services available to those needing assistance with domestic violence and sexual assault issues have been located on the far east side of Kenosha County. With the opening of the office in Salem Lakes, the hope is to better serve all residents and their families with legal and advocacy needs.“
