The vehicle involved ended up on the east side of the road.

Traffic was tied up in the area, with a fireworks display scheduled for Wilmot Mountain at about the same time.

We are awaiting further official information from the sheriff’s department.

A deputy was later dispatched to look for a wallet in the area of the crash.

UPDATE: The driver of the car was later declared dead at a local hospital. More information here.— DH

I can’t sleep, I had to look up information about this crash. I was the first car in the North bound lane when this car crossed over. The driver was speeding excessively, although most likely saved the life of me and my unborn child by veering into the ditch.
